Academic Brief
Trevitt Elementary School is a TERRIFIC place for each child to learn! In 2008, a brand new school building was opened. The new building features a fully equipped gymnasium, cafetorium, Art & Music room, and Computer Lab. Each classroom has video projection, voice amplification technology and several classrooms use interactive white boards, document cameras and student response systems. We offer a free full day Pre-K program and we are offer Journeys Reading Program from Houghton Mifflin with a Literacy Specialist, Leveled Literacy Interventionist, and Data-Resource Manager to ensure that all K-3rd grade students are reading on grade level.

Academic Support
Journeys Common core is a comprehensive and rigorous K-6 reading program designed to help students successfully meet the Common Core State Standards through an integrated model of literacy instruction. Students receive instruction in close reading of complex text, writing to sources, speaking and listening activities, academic vocabulary development, and grammar lessons. Students in grades K-2 also receive support through Raz Kids and students in grades 3-5 receive support from Study Island both are technology-based programs to help students in the area of reading.
For math we are using the district-wide program MyMath.  This program is fully aligned with the Common Core and allows for rigor, personalization, and student engagement to help your child be successful.
